Treatment for Chronic Bad Breath

Halimeter Measurements
The Halimeter is a highly sophisticated machine designed to accurately measure the odor (VSC gases) in your mouth in parts per billion (PPB). This machine will tell you just how bad your breath really is in a measurable sense.
Where do Odors Come From?
Treatment of Oral Malodors begins with the understanding of where odors begin and how they develop. The bacteria in your mouth hide everywhere; in the gum tissue, around broken fillings, and especially on the tongue. It's true good brushing is important, but more important is what you brush. Brush your teeth, your gums (especially your gum line), cheeks, roof of the mouth, and the tongue, as the tongue is the major source for odor (VSC gases).
Deodorizing System
In this system there are two important Mechanical Devices used to keep the mouth extra clean. The first is the Pickleen Tongue Cleaner used daily to agitate the bacteria from the surface of the tongue. The second device is the Special Oral Irrigator used to flush out the spaces around the teeth and gums; and within deteriorating dental restorations.

In addition, we can now offer a nonalcoholic, deodorizing mouthrinse and toothpaste which are the keys to controlling mouth odor (VSC gases).

Finally, there are a few patients who will need the assistance of certain digestive enzymes to help digest food; and special internal cleansers to help the body eliminate the toxic by-products when food is broken down. After entering the stomach, such toxic by-products enter the bloodstream and circulate for hours - constantly causing odors.
